| 22.0 | The shopping center parking lots are flooded with flood waters approaching the buildings. US 169 near and north of St Joseph, 11 miles south of Algona is flooded. All bridges over the Des Moines River may be threatened with wash-outs and many roads across Kossuth county may be closed. |
| 20.0 | Water enters parking lot of shopping centers north of gage site, between river and US18. (COE Alert stage). Highway 18 NE of Algona is closed. |
| 19.0 | Highway 169 south of Algona and near St. Joseph will be cut off. Sections of Highway 18 east of Highway 169 will also be threatened. |
| 18.0 | Highway 169 will be threatened near St. Joseph and may be overtopped south of Algona. |
| 17.0 | Highway 169 south of Algona will be threatened and some rural roads are flooded. |
| 16.0 | There will be extensive flooding of agricultural land across Kossuth county. |
| 14.0 | Low-lying agricultural land all along the river begins to flood. |
